Who wouldn't snap up the chance to spend a day wandering through crop circles in England's Wiltshire countryside, surrounded by the Avebury stone circles, lots of cows, and a great group of friends?

My curiosity will always lead me to new adventures of the sacred and mystic kind, and I jumped at the opportunity to join the London Spirituality Meet Up day out, led by the beautiful Clare Russell of metaLife.
Let me begin by saying I held no opinion whatsoever of the origin of crop circles ... aliens? Great! Hoaxes? Great! High frequency vibrations that short out nearby electricity? Great! The joy I find in exploring the world and her sacred sites is ALL about feeling for myself what is true, using my intuitive and empathic abilities to suss it all out for myself.
I frequently use the designs in my artwork, (side note: check out my friend Diana's Crop Circle Clay for some gorgeous crop circle inspired pottery!) because I do hold the belief that sacred geometry is very powerful - and that's what crop circles are: sacred geometry emblazened in fields of wheat or barley in the countryside. How they arrive there I do not know, nor do I really care!
Sacred symbols in fields of green and gold? A win-win opportunity - aliens or no aliens. I leap at the chance to spend the day in the countryside with like minded folks who groove on nature and the magical possibilities of the Universe.

Rather than give a blow by blow description of each of the three circles, I'll post the picturers and give my full feeling-report at the end :) Our first stop was this circle, just a stones throw from Avebury:

On the approach into the center ....
Oh hello juicy earth energy with a tinge of celestial wonderfulness!

Off to the next circle ....
A pub sits just on the edge of the field holding the circle ...
And a there's a chalk horse carved into the hillside overlooking the circle ...
Making our way in through the narrow foot path ...

I'm pretty sure I could happily laze about in the middle of fields for the rest of my life :) The energy in the English countryside is always off the charts for me, and this was no exception.
After my meditation in the smallest circle out of the 8 in the design ...
Aaaaand our final field ...
The ascent up the hill ...
This circle was incredibly intricate and filled with little 'pods', all of which had people lying in them.
So fun! As you know by now, I'm always looking for an excuse to plop into a field.
I. Am. So. Happy. Standing in the middle of my alien pod :) Barefoot. Open to possibilities. Thinking with my heart. Breathing. Loving the earth. Loving the stars. Just loving, really.

So. What opinion do I have now that I've walked barefoot and meditated horizontally in three different crop circles?
I've heard many theories over the years, so I'm pretty aware of the
stigma and opinions people have drawn around them. I can only
understand these crop circles by how I FEEL when I'm in them, and what
my empathic connection with the Earth tells me. So, I'm not really interested in trying to understand or explain them. But I do know what I felt ....
I'm very sure that a brain-type understanding of these symbols and their origins is NOT the way to approach them. I came to the circles with no expectations, and I left with incredible life-shifting experiences.
For me? It's clear that crop circles are a sacred kiss where earth meets sky. That there are multi-dimensional fields collaborating with our human collective consciousness. That the earth herself is as involved in this co-creation as the sky dimensions ~ and US, the humans, in our consciousness and evolution.
Kinda like a Holy Trinity of Earth, Sky and We.
(And don't forget to check out Diana's pottery at Crop Circle Clay!)

Hi Erin, it was so nice meeting you at the wedding last weekend. Your work is lovely!! Shelia
Nice Erin, thanks for sharing. We got a link to your blog from Diana and enjoyed reading about your experience. Very magical. My wife Meredith and I have been visiting the formations in England every summer for the past ten years and they are still as special to us as your experience this past week! I think your assessment is spot on. I've been doing talks about the formations for about ten years and you summed it up pretty well.

Hi Erin,
I was led to this wonderful blog by Diana Brower on FB. I really enjoyed your refreshing, no expectations open heart and mind approach to the crop circle phenomenon. I enjoyed your photos and observations very much.
Whoa! Little resting pods? how cool is this...I love the piece with you looking out over the field with the hat...It must have been fun, creepy, spiritual..all at once! I would love to visit someday. For now, I have to just watch "Signs" again...
